Every December, the Mark Twain Society brings readers, families, and neighbors together to celebrate the season with joy, creativity, and compassion. Our society’s signature event, the Mark Twain Holiday Gathering & Charity Book Drive, invites literature lovers and community members to share in the spirit of giving—donating new books and gifts to inspire young readers and support families in need. Join us as we turn our love for stories into acts of kindness and community spirit.

Our Mission
The Mark Twain Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the literary legacy of Mark Twain and fostering a love for reading, storytelling, and community engagement. What began as a small group of enthusiasts sharing a passion for Twain’s wit and wisdom has grown into a vibrant community promoting literacy, education, and cultural appreciation across generations.

Get ready to celebrate the season with stories, laughter, and giving! Join the Mark Twain Society as we bring readers, families, and friends together for an evening of joy, creativity, and community spirit.

Time: 7:00 PM – Midnight
Cost: Free to join — just bring a new or gently used book 🎁 to donate
What to Wear: Festive attire inspired by your favorite literary characters or classic holiday themes!
Where It Goes: All books and donations will support literacy programs and families in need through the Mark Twain Society’s Holiday Book Drive.
🎁 Donate a Toy – Bring a new, unwrapped toy to the event or drop it off at participating bars.
👯 Volunteer – Help us coordinate, decorate, and keep the festivities running smoothly.
💖 Sponsor Us – Partner with us to showcase your business and support the community.
